Introduction of UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IN TIMISOARA
The â€œVictor Babesâ€ University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara, was first founded as a modest faculty, part of the initial Western University, following the Decree-Law No. 660, issued and signed by His Majesty King Michael I of Romania, on 30th December 1944; the inauguration of the new faculty took place on 15 July 1945.
The first document, which recorded the establishment of The Timisoara Faculty of Medicine, was the Decree no. 104 on 17th January 1945, signed by the Ministry of Health, Dr. Dumitru Bagdasar, a prominent personality of the Romanian medical life. However, the fundamental document, which led, de jure et de facto, to the setting up of the Faculty of Medicine, was the Law no.361 of May, 4th, 1945, modifying the provisions of Council Order by which the Western University was set up, so as to meet the objective requirements for the formation of healthcare specialists, in the West of the country. Actually, the Timisoara Faculty of Medicine opened on 15th July1945, with two study years: the first year of study, consisting of 412 students, and the second year of study, consisting of 76 students.
During the first three months, teaching consisted only in lectures, namely: anatomy, physiology, chemistry, lectures that were held in the auditorium and classrooms of the Studentsâ€™ Union, on King Charles Boulevard (the former â€œNotre Dameâ€ Secondary School).
An important change in the course of the medical educational process occurred in October 1945, when the faculty was given its current residence, the â€œBanatiaâ€ building (1936), that previously belonged to the â€œBanatiaâ€ Foundation of the Catholic Church.
Clinical training started initially in four hospitals, while today students are being trained in more than twenty-five teaching hospitals located in twelve buildings. This development was at the same time parallelled by a change in title: up to 1948 â€“ the Faculty of Medicine; between 1948 â€“ 1990 â€“ the Institute of Medicine, which immediately after 1948 encompassed three faculties: General Medicine, Pediatrics and Hygiene; after 1990 â€“ the University of Medicine and Pharmacy; starting with 2001, the university proudly bears the name of the famous scientist, Dr. Victor Babes, whose origins can be found in this part of the country.

2. Fill out the online application form with real and correct informaiton, including personal information, education background, language proficiency, etc.

3. Upload the required application materials
Please upload photocopies of required application materials according to the university’s admissions criteria.
All the materials should be MS-Word (.doc), Adobe PDF (.pdf) documents, image files (.gif, .jpg), or compression files (.rar, .zip). Each file cannot exceed 8 MB (megabytes)
4. Make payment
Students who choose Western Union or Bank transfer as their payment method need to upload the payment receipt after you wire the money at the post office or bank.
5. Submit application
Please submit your application once the application fee is confirmed by Roots Education. To submit your application, please access My Roots Education-> My Applications by logging in Roots Education, click ‘Continue’ at ‘Application Status’ column, and go to the ‘Submit Application’ section. You will see a big ‘Submit’ button. Click the button and your application will be sent directly to the university.
Once you’ve submitted your application, please wait 2-4 weeks for the university to process your application. Once the university has made a decision, Roots Education will notify you by email. You can also track your application status by logging into your Roots Education account.
The steps for ‘Apply via Email’ are as follows:
1. Choose a MBBS program；
2. Click “Apply via Email” to download the fillable application form and documents;
3. Open forms in MS Word and fill in required information electronically, please make sure the information is accurate and correct to receive your JW 202 form;
4. Send us the completed form and other required application materials;
5. Pay the Application Fee and Roots Education Processing Fee, keep the receipt;
6. Send us the copy of receipt, and the school will process your application once receiving your bank receipt;
7. Check your application process via email periodically, and track with your admission status;
8. Wait for your admission notice from Roots Education within 5 workdays, and the JW 202 form will send to you in 2-6 weeks;
