This program consists of study of basic medicine, clinical medicine and preventive medicine and requires the students of 1-year clinical training. Students who pass the graduation exam (including exam on medical knowledge and exam on clinical skills) will be granted the bachelor’s degree of medicine. The program aims at producing clinicians who have sound professional integrity, solid ground of basic medicine and systematic knowledge of clinical medicine and have acquired basic clinical skills as well as the ability to deal with problems in clinical settings.
The students should complete 203.5 credits, among which premed pubic courses are 26.5 credits, basic medical courses 48.5 credits and clinical medical courses 54.5 credits. The clinical rotation makes 74 credits.

MBBS degree: On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the Tongji University. if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Studying at university requires you to pay for your tuition and cover your living expenses. However, financial support is available. The fee paid in your first year will remain constant with no inflationary increase for the duration of your course, with the exception of the International Foundation Programme and clinical courses.
All international students are required to pay a tuition fee.
International students who spend an entire year studying abroad or on an industrial placement (either abroad or in the UK) will pay 50% of their agreed tuition fee for the placement year.
