Cornerstones of our work are undergraduate programmes in Medicine and Pharmacy. Our Phase 1 Medicine programme welds together the best of the University traditions of intellectual rigour with a thorough base in science and innovative approaches to teaching and learning characterised by early engagement with patients, our local community, clinicians and world leading researchers in Medicine and Health. Our MPharm programme is an exciting new development which uses a state of the art curriculum aimed at producing pharmacists suited to the multifaceted environment of the modern NHS and industry. Our undergraduate teaching is backed by experienced researchers from industry, academia and the NHS providing a practical and modern understanding of the role of the pharmacist as a practitioner, scientist and researcher. Both programmes are distinctive for offering a learning experience which is characterised by a personalised approach both within the course, the School and indeed experience of Queen’s campus. We also offer a truly exciting and innovative experience of Inter-Professional Learning which starts from day one of your studies.

The School’s postgraduate programmes offer opportunities for study at Masters level and also for research students. Through these we aim to challenge, stretch and to develop your knowledge and understanding of the range of ways that we can think about health and the factors that affect it.

Entry Requirements:

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a national scheme run and funded by Innovate UK with additional funding from all the research councils and several government departments. The central aim is to improve the competitiveness and wealth creation of businesses by using the knowledge, technology and skills that are within the University. KTPs are also a great way for the academics to achieve Impact from their research.

The academic team usually consists of two or more academics who support a recent graduate (referred to as a KTP Associate) supervising and guiding them to deliver the project over 1-3 years. Depending on the nature and academic level of the project, associate may have a Bachelors, Masters or PhD qualification when they are recruited onto the KTP project.

Tuition Fees

You will be charged an annual tuition fee for each year of supervised study, and doctoral students will also be charged a continuation fee if they have not submitted their thesis three months after the end of supervised study. Your tuition fee will differ depending on the programme you study and whether you are a home or overseas fee-paying student, and whether you are studying full-time or part-time.

Living Costs

As well as your tuition fees, you will also need to meet your day-to-day living and course costs whilst you study with us.Your living costs will depend on your personal circumstances, but the majority of students will need to pay for accommodation and related costs, food and other household shopping (toiletries, washing powder etc.), utilities, essential clothing, travel, study-related costs and leisure.
You should work out how much you will need to spend on your living costs before you start your course. Many postgraduate students live in College accommodation and you can find information on the cost of living in College accommodation at www.durham.ac.uk/postgraduate/accommodation/costs.
The Accommodation Office can provide information on the cost of private rented accommodation in Durham City and near Queen’s Campus in Stockton-on-Tees and assist students in looking for accommodation. The Durham Students' Union Advice Centre can check contracts on your behalf and assist if you are having any issues.

Roots Education provides two kinds of application methods for international candidates to study English medium MBBS programs at China’s universities. They can choose the quick and convenient online application system or the traditional offline application route-Apply via Email.

Online Application Procedures

To complete the online application process, you need to follow the four main sections below:

1. Click ‘Apply Now’ button on this page and login, if didn’t have the account, register first.

2. Fill out the online application form with real and correct informaiton, including personal information, education background, language proficiency, etc.

If you’re not sure how to fill out the form, please check if there are any instructions behind the blank.

3. Upload the required application materials

Please upload photocopies of required application materials according to the university’s admissions criteria.
All the materials should be MS-Word (.doc), Adobe PDF (.pdf) documents, image files (.gif, .jpg), or compression files (.rar, .zip). Each file cannot exceed 8 MB (megabytes)

4. Make payment

Students who choose Western Union or Bank transfer as their payment method need to upload the payment receipt after you wire the money at the post office or bank.

5. Submit application

Please submit your application once the application fee is confirmed by Roots Education. To submit your application, please access My Roots Education-> My Applications by logging in Roots Education, click ‘Continue’ at ‘Application Status’ column, and go to the ‘Submit Application’ section. You will see a big ‘Submit’ button. Click the button and your application will be sent directly to the university.

Once you’ve submitted your application, please wait 2-4 weeks for the university to process your application. Once the university has made a decision, Roots Education will notify you by email. You can also track your application status by logging into your Roots Education account.

Offline Application Procedures

The steps for ‘Apply via Email’ are as follows:

1. Choose a MBBS program;
2. Click “Apply via Email” to download the fillable application form and documents;
3. Open forms in MS Word and fill in required information electronically, please make sure the information is accurate and correct to receive your JW 202 form;
4. Send us the completed form and other required application materials;
5. Pay the Application Fee and Roots Education Processing Fee, keep the receipt;
6. Send us the copy of receipt, and the school will process your application once receiving your bank receipt;
7. Check your application process via email periodically, and track with your admission status;
8. Wait for your admission notice from Roots Education within 5 workdays, and the JW 202 form will send to you in 2-6 weeks;
