Introduction of Tianjin University school of International Education

Tianjin University school of International Education was established in January 2000, it is one of the secondary schools of Tianjin University.

The school of International Educational takes enrollment, teaching administration, social administration and services functions of international students at Tianjin University for its main task, and also undertakes the Chinese language teaching for international students.

The school is composed of Department the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Office of the School, Admission Office of International Students, Section of International Students Administration, Section of International Students Dormitory and Section of Catering. There are more than 40 regular members in the school including teachers, managerial and service staffs, of them, 8 people have senior professional titles, 13 people have master degrees, 3 persons are studying for doctorate.

The school of International Educational has been carrying on the fine tradition and sprit of running school which formed in the course of development for more than 110 years of Tianjin University, by relying on the abundant actual force and advantages of running school, gave full play to the experiences of international student education for over 50 years, positively carry out the guideline of state international students education in new period, adhere to the sprit of developing, pioneering, innovation and advance with the times, has been made the scale of international student of Tianjin University to expanded unceasingly in several years. The level and quality of teaching has remarkably enhanced and attracted more and more international students study at Tianjin University. In recent years, there have been over 1000 international students at different levels coming to this university each year and this data has placed the forward rank among the national science and engineering universities and local universities.

At present, Tianjin University has formed various types and levels in international student education including short-term and long-term Chinese language courses, undergraduate, master degree to Ph. D students. There are 42 countries students are studying at this university now, compared with that of 20 years ago, only 10 countries students studied here. Along with increases of international students and their countries, there has formed a multi-culture and internationalization atmosphere on campus.

The School of International Education of Tianjin University has its advantages and characteristics in construction of disciplines, teaching system, course offered, teaching staff, teaching equipment and teaching management which is fit for the development of international student education of the school. Especially, the administrative system and operational mode of the school is more effective which has been proved by way of practice.

The school has 3 advanced video-audio labs, more modern ?equipped classrooms and 3 international dormitories which provided a good living environment for international students, the gross floors area of different buildings of the school is near 20000 square meters.

Dormitories

1. There are two on-campus international student dormitories: Youyuan international student dormitory and Liuyuan international student dormitory, single rooms in Youyuan and double rooms in Liuyuan are provided for international students.

2. Upon arrival, international students can directly apply for rooms on the reception desk, fill in the accommodation registration form; get the room key and hand over RMB10 for key’s deposit.

3. There are 80 kilowatt-hour electricity costs offered by the university for Chinese government scholarship students each month, anyone of Chinese government scholarship students exceed limit of electricity, the extra electricity costs will be covered by him or herself. Self–supporting international students should be financed the electricity costs in Youyuan or Liuyuan international student dormitory international student dormitory, it is necessary to pay for 200 kilowatt-hour electricity costs when he/she live in a room for the first time, at present, it is RMB 0.55 for a kilowatt-hour.

4. The telephones in the rooms are 201 card telephones, international students can purchase telephone cards while use them.

5. The rooms in Youyuan international student dormitory, B and D Area of Liuyuan international student dormitory are equipped electric water heaters and can supply 24 hours hot water.

6. The laundries are equipped in Youyuan and Liuyuan international students dormitories, international students should purchase the cards form the service department to use them.

Roots Education provides two kinds of application methods for international candidates to study English medium MBBS programs at China’s universities. They can choose the quick and convenient online application system or the traditional offline application route-Apply via Email.

Online Application Procedures

To complete the online application process, you need to follow the four main sections below:

1. Click ‘Apply Now’ button on this page and login, if didn’t have the account, register first.

2. Fill out the online application form with real and correct informaiton, including personal information, education background, language proficiency, etc.

If you’re not sure how to fill out the form, please check if there are any instructions behind the blank.

3. Upload the required application materials

Please upload photocopies of required application materials according to the university’s admissions criteria.
All the materials should be MS-Word (.doc), Adobe PDF (.pdf) documents, image files (.gif, .jpg), or compression files (.rar, .zip). Each file cannot exceed 8 MB (megabytes)

4. Make payment

Students who choose Western Union or Bank transfer as their payment method need to upload the payment receipt after you wire the money at the post office or bank.

5. Submit application

Please submit your application once the application fee is confirmed by Roots Education. To submit your application, please access My Roots Education-> My Applications by logging in Roots Education, click ‘Continue’ at ‘Application Status’ column, and go to the ‘Submit Application’ section. You will see a big ‘Submit’ button. Click the button and your application will be sent directly to the university.

Once you’ve submitted your application, please wait 2-4 weeks for the university to process your application. Once the university has made a decision, Roots Education will notify you by email. You can also track your application status by logging into your Roots Education account.

Offline Application Procedures

The steps for ‘Apply via Email’ are as follows:

1. Choose a MBBS program;
2. Click “Apply via Email” to download the fillable application form and documents;
3. Open forms in MS Word and fill in required information electronically, please make sure the information is accurate and correct to receive your JW 202 form;
4. Send us the completed form and other required application materials;
5. Pay the Application Fee and Roots Education Processing Fee, keep the receipt;
6. Send us the copy of receipt, and the school will process your application once receiving your bank receipt;
7. Check your application process via email periodically, and track with your admission status;
8. Wait for your admission notice from Roots Education within 5 workdays, and the JW 202 form will send to you in 2-6 weeks;
